The sub-maximum Physical Working Capacity (PWC) test is based on the relation between aerobic performance and bodyweight.
Instructions
Equipment | The PWC Test is done on a cycle ergometer. Furthermore you need a stopwatch, a heart rate monitor and, if possible, an assistant. | ||||||||||||||||

Preparation | Apply heart rate monitor. Then adjust height of seat and handlebar of cycle ergometer to comfortable height and angle. | ||||||||||||||||
Execution | Choose initial workload and cycle with quite exactly 70 rpm. Permanently control heart rate. Every 2 minutes increase performance by 25 Watts until target you reach the target heart rates reached. Not actual performance level (in watt) and stop test.

Analysis | Divide performance level by actual bodyweight (workload in watt / bodyweight).
